It is a little late, but atleast we are putting it out there now...lol..
So..Dec 8, 2010 was a WONDERFUL day! Benjamin, my mom and my cousin Cassie and I went in to the hospital at 0600 to get induced. We were under the impression that they were going to just break my water and see where it goes from there, but oh no...they wanted to start me on Pitocin and THEN break my water. Kind of reluctanly, Benjamin and I decided to go ahead with the Pitocin. Let me tell you now..that stuff is from the devil! My contractions started to slowly get stronger and I remember Leah and my doula Karen coming. At 0930 Dr. Seavey came in and broke my water....that was a crazy experience! It didnt hurt, it was very warm and LOTS of water came out, Dr. Seavey said she was "very satisfied" with my water..lol. Anyway, VERY soon after my water breaking the nurses upped my Pitocin and the contractions began to hurt. I was able to joke through some of them but they got tough FAST. I was able to breathe through most of them but after the first time they checked my cervix the contractions started feeling like I was being ripped apart. There is no way to describe the pain but it was worth it. I got pretty far before I requested some medicine and they put something in my IV (which the nurse put in wrong and HUUURT so bad the whole flippin time) The medicine they gave me made me really tired and I remember people trying to wake me up and telling me to breathe....kind of scary. Well that medicine was only suppose to take the edge off for 20 minutes and when it let up...holy crap! The contractions were so bad I couldnt see straight...literally. I was having the hardest time concentrating on anybody and getting through the contractions. When I threw up a bit and then REALIZED I had thrown up after the fact, I knew I did not want to push my son out and not be able to see him and enjoy our first moments. So I talked to Benjamin and we decided that it was ok that I get the epidural. I really felt like I had let alot of people down especially since I was so close to having Josiah in my arms. I was 8 cm and 100% effaced and the baby was at +2 station (I think..lol) and I was in transition so we had to get the epidural fast. Let me just say, I will try to go all natural again but that epidural was a MIRACLE! LOL. The doctor who put it in was amazing and had alot of patience with me! LOL.Well about 10 minutes after the epi was in I started pushing and both the nurses and the doctor said I was a superstar pusher! haha! I guess thats a good thing....When Josiah finally came out ( I will spare the details of what that felt like..lol) it was amazing! I am so blessed to have him and Benjamin and the past three weeks have gone by so fast! But I have typed enough for now and I am sure more details will soon follow. Thanks for all the support guys!

Birthing Center Tour
Benjamin and I went and took our birthing center tour today and I must say, we were disappointed. Our doula came (YAY!) with us and helped clarify some questions but the RN made it feel like our questions were dumb. As many of you know, we are going to try to have Josiah the old fashion way....no drugs. Apparently, that is no longer normal. According to the RN she said that the majority of women are INDUCED and subsequently recieve the epidural. I (being the smart a$$ that I am) then gestured toward our doula and said "shes my epidural." At which point, the RN was like good for you and you can do it, BUT (always gotta have one) go into labor flexible. Well DUH. I am so tired of people thinking that its impossible to do a natural labor. If I end up getting an epidural because of the pain, so be it, but I would appreciate people keeping their negative/doubtful thoughts to themselves. The center should also be renamed. A true birthing center has more facilities for the mother going through labor....like a nice bath tub, the option to have a water birth, a working birthing ball. When I asked if they had a ball,....the RN was like...well, we do but it doesnt really get used and it doesnt stay inflated. This center is just an extension of a hospital! Its all good though, our doula has a bag of tricks that she brings with her, and Benjamin and I are going to go buy a birthing ball next weekend. Anyways! Good news...we have like 48 days till Christmas!!!! Whoo Hoo!! =)

Josiah Update
We had another doctor appointment today and everything is going good! Doctor said that I have more than likely been experiencing contractions but all is good! We have 3 weeks to go before we are considered "full term" at which point Josiah is more than welcome to make his grand appearance to the world! =)
On other news: we are so excited my mother is coming out!!! We need to make Oklahoma as nice as possible so she will want to stay here!!! (Its going to be hard cause we have the stupid Rocky Mountains to contend against! LOL) Also, if anybody wants to help put down the remainder of the trim with Benjamin yall would rock!! Alrighty our peeps....stay safe and have fun and know we love yall!

Great Day!
So today we had a wonderful doctors visit! I actually lost a pound and I got to see a doctor instead of the evil nurse! YAY! LOL....the doctor said that everything looks GREAT and he was hilarious...almost better than Dr. Seavey...almost..lol. Afterwards, I made Benjamin drive us down to Edmond for a suprise Raindrop massage for his birthday...he really had NO idea we were going up there for it and the look on his face was priceless! We got home around 6 tonight, went for a walk, got a bath and then just chilled. God is good! =)

Strange...
This weekend was my first duty as a reservist. It is strange to think that this time last year I was deployed and contemplating how to get out! LOL..now look at us! We are pregnant and I am out! I found out today that I am going to have a big mountain to climb once Josiah decides to grace us with his presence. Believe it or not, I am less stressed at being a mom than I am losing the weight afterwards...I am so backwards! LOL. We started "eating clean" again about 3 days ago and I am slowly going to start working out once the baby is born. I think I may actually post that journey on here as I begin it....hmm...talk about accountability! LOL...just cant judge or make fun of how much I weigh(ed) when I decide to announce it! LOL! Oh, and please pray for Benjamin and his back....he really wants to be able to work out with me and go to the adventure race in May! Thanks guys...you rock!

First Post!
So this is our first post and it feels kind of weird! LOL.. So we will just give an update! We are currently 7.5 months pregnant with our first child...a boy! We couldnt be happier! Also, Misty recently seperated from Active Duty and reports in for her first reserve duty this coming Sat. She also is going to school fulltime to become an Elementary Teacher..pray for her..lol. Benjamin is still active duty but he is looking at possibly pursuing some kind of Dietician degee and he too will get out of the military in two years. Life is awesome for us right now! We thank God everyday for giving us one another, our child, and our friends and families. God is good! =)
